I stayed at Hotel Duca D'Aosta for 4 days on my trip to Florence. The location was perfect, just a 5-minute walk from the main station. The hotel staff, especially Ivan, were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving great suggestions for places to eat and visit. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was good, and they even surprised me with free champagne for my birthday. The internet was fast and reliable, allowing me to watch Korean dramas in real time. it was a nice and enjoyable experience.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Ideal location- just in front of main railway station. Supermarket 2 mins walk around corner. Air condition worked a treat in the hot Firenze weather. Elevator on ground floor so no lugging of heavy luggage upstair. Very friendly staff- always helpful.Room came with balcony. Good bathroom fittings.
A small refrigerator that did not work. We also found our uk travel adaptor for Europe use was not fitting into any of their 2 pin sockets and therefore we were not able to recharge our cameras. Bummer!

I just came back from a 2 week trip to Italy and this was the worst hotel I stayed at. It's rated as a 2 star hotel, but for me it's barely passable as a youth hostel. I stayed in the single - Room 8 for four nights and here is what I found: PROS 1. The location is very convenient as it is only 2 minutes from the Santa Maria Novella train station and a local supermarket down the street. 2. There is a working elevator.
Cons 1. Cleaning is very poor standard. The hotel policy is to change their sheets only once after every 3 nights. I don't think the cleaning staff did any more than make my bed and give me new packets of soap and shampoo everyday. Other than that, I didn't notice that the bathroom or floors were ever cleaned the whole time I was there. Although one staff member at reception agreed to allow my sheets to be changed after 2 nights when I spoke to him about it. 2. The toilet was absolutely disgusting, as half of the seat was covered in a dark yellow urine stain. 3. Extremely noisy. You could hear everyone in the hallway and reception area. The room had a small balcony which I never wanted to step out onto because it faced an unpleasant view of other people's decrepit balconies, laundry and EXTREMELY LOUD AIR CONDITIONING FANS that were ON ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT. It was like living with an industrial engine in your room. In addition, there was a constant noise coming from the sewer pipes in the bathroom. 4. The hallways constantly smelled like cigarette smoke. 5. My bed and pillow had a fouls sour smell even after the sheets had been changed. The whole room just smelled like old furniture. 6. Walls were aged and had yellow water stains all over.

Convenient location near the train station and within walking distance of major attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with balcony.
Breakfast could be improved with fresher coffee and juice. Some rooms have beds that are two singles joined together, causing discomfort.

Cheap rate
so-so breakfast. Be warned it is not a true hotel, but something like a hostel with a rooms. For 2 or 3 stars there are better deals (with cleaner or nicer rooms) nearby.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. the location is unbeatable - just a stone's throw away from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. I also appreciated the small balcony in my room, which provided a lovely spot to relax and take in the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that the rooms were always kept clean and providing helpful information about the local area. Additionally, the included breakfast, although limited to cold options, was a great way to start the day.
No complaints, my stay here was exceptional.

The guestrooms at Hotel Duca D'Aosta were incredibly cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed the air conditioning and plush bathrobes, which made us feel right at home. The free WiFi and minibar amenities were also a nice touch!
The only thing we liked less about our stay was the electric kettle in our room. It just wasn't our preferred method for making tea.

This hotel is a great value for money with affordable prices. One thing I really liked about this hotel was its location. It is conveniently situated within walking distance of the train station, making it easy to explore the city and get around. Additionally, the staff at this hotel were friendly and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. The basic amenities in the rooms were satisfactory, and I especially appreciated having a small balcony to enjoy the views. Lastly, the breakfast at this hotel offered a good selection of cold foods, which was a great way to start the day.
All in all, my stay at this hotel was just fine.

The location of the hotel is its advantage.
The smell in the room was of old furniture. The fridge was not in work condition.
